don't be afraid

don't be afraid.

this must be amazing grace,

electricity in the air,

a galvanic presence from beyond,

brought down and tangled up

in chalcedon blessing;

son of God, son of man.

a passageway for angels to crowd the skies,

trumpeting a new song to terrified shepherds,

“don’t be afraid, we bring a word of great joy,”

an echo from creation's start

when GOD defines the good, and now,

on the eighth day,

"a savior born to you,"

a redemption from years of hiding

and wondering how GOD might respond,

whether his arms can really reach us.

a moment in the garden when all seems lost

and angels stoop down again, asking us,

"why look there? don't be afraid; he's alive."

don't be afraid.

this must be amazing grace,

electricity in the air,

a galvanic presence from beyond —

heaven's child who defines peace rightly

and love solely

and grows up to say,

"Don't be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed."

"Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows"

“Don’t be afraid; just believe.”

“Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

“Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.”

“Don’t be afraid; just believe, and... be healed.”

don't be afraid.

this must be amazing grace,

electricity in the air,

a galvanic presence from beyond.
